It seems like your motivation was ruined by a poor management decision. Someone in management set a deadline that was totally unreasonable and the whole team suffered because of it. My advice is, don't give up on software development. Instead, quit your company, take a month break, then find a company that respects their employees enough to not put them through that kind of stress. They made that decision because they thought it would be effective from a business standpoint. By quitting, you show them how costly it is to throw developers under the bus. It's far more time-consuming and expensive to hire a new developer than it is to just expand the deadline by a week or two. But they won't feel that pain if you don't quit. Make them feel it.
